Praying for Uncle Rich!

I use this blog as a journal so i wanted to document this:

On Friday night we were at Emotion Bowl having a grand ol' time cheering the tigers on (more on that later!!!) Anyway after the game we were walking to our car. When we got to the car Will's phone rang- a certain voice of Will's, that he uses, made it apparent that something must be wrong- and he was rushing- we got in the car FAST and he sped off! After he got off the phone I asked what is going on and he said- Uncle Rich had a heart attack - coded 3 times and is in the ICU- Will's Dad had called him cause Aunt Brenda Lee (Rich's wife) was just finding out as she returned from Boise! So Will and Terry rushed to the hospital to be with him and Brenda Lee once she arrived!

We were wondering how he got to the hospital and how things played out since he was home alone- so we pieced things together, apparently sometime after 4 He called 911 and told them he had chest pain, difficulty breathing, and was home alone- SO the ambulance rushed over there- took him to Bingham Memorial and stabilized him- where they then transferred him to EIRMC! Once he got to EIRMC it was about 5:45ish- He then went to the Cath Lab- where they put in two stents- While in the Cath lab he coded and had to have CPR and his heart shocked THREE times!! They got him somewhat stable and in the ICU-

Brenda Lee was on her way home from Boise and had talk to him around 3:30- and he was going out to wash his truck- they took a while getting home because her aunt and cousin from Texas was with them- and so they stopped at certain fun sites- and stopped in Pocatello for dinner- so later that night they got home (not for sure when but probably about 9ish) and the front screen door was propped open- and there was a message on the machine saying they have transferred Rich to EIRMC- So she immediately called the hospital and found out he was in the ICU now- thats when she called Terry, and Terry called Will!

He has had ups and downs- and the last couple days have been more down-

I saw him on Sunday and he was looking a lot better than he had - and they were talking about extubating him Monday- Well Monday came around and he was requiring more oxygen so they had to up the ventilator- and sedate him a little so he wasnt agitated!

On Monday night (THE EMPEYS ARE STUBBORN) Uncle Rich decided to pull out his own tube- and he did- and that set his heart into a dangerous rhythm- and it stayed in that rhythm too long so as they were ABOUT to shock his heart- it went into a normal rhythm-

So he was then sedated even more so he that cannot wake- Basically a drug-induced coma-

Last night I got word that nothing really has changed- still the same- so we will see what happens-

We will be continuing to Pray for Uncle Rich!
